Winters in Chicago are brutal: give the gift of warmth this Fall!

Now through December 31st

Chicago Spartans Community Outreach is proud to announce the return of our Fall Coat Drive. Last year, Spartans across the city opened their hearts and closets to donate over 100 coats! Alumni also opened their wallets to donate over $450 to purchase brand new coats for those in need. We hope this year is even better and need your help to get more deserving individuals the warmth they need this Winter.

Our Beneficiaries

Elam Davies Social Service Center

The Social Service center provides support to needy Chicago families and individuals with resources we often take for granted. In addition to offering food and other basic necessities, the program offers Winter gear to individuals who otherwise couldn’t afford it. Have you ever ran inside because you were just that cold? Imagine if you had nowhere to run to. Help homeless and low-income families worry about one less cold night this Winter.

The Chicago Lights Tutoring Program

The tutoring program works directly with Chicago youth with a one-on-one mentoring program. The goal is simply to have a positive influences in their education and career path. These students are trying their best to concentrate on building a better future–they should not have to worry about how they can stay warm on the way to school. Allow them to focus on their next test–not on how cold they feel.

How You Can Help

Chicago Spartans are collecting new and gently used winter coats for Men/Women/Children. You can bring your new or gently used item to any of our drop off locations throughout the city. If you’d like to help with collection, add your workplace as a dropoff, or any other way, please feel free to reach out to us.

No coat? No problem!

If your jacket has been through a lot or you just got it, you can still help! An option to donate financially is also available through Operation Warm that will go directly to purchasing new coats for our beneficiary. What’s better than a used coat? A brand new one.
