Volunteer Opportunities
Do you want to volunteer your time to help the MSU Alumni Club of Metro Chicago grow stronger? If so, see the opportunities below.
E-mail:
* Maintain Current List (member list and active volunteer list)
* Keep in contact with MSU to obtain new names
* Distribute e-mails for other committees
* Develop templates to keep e-mail messages consistent and professional
* Manage inbound e-mails
* New data collection at every event
Website:
* Maintain site/links to keep information current
* Define what needs to be maintained
* Define and develop new sites to be created
* Renew and manage domain/hosting costs
* Work with Spartans helping Spartans to create networking section
* Work with Marketing to help promote site
College Nights:
* Help staff and attend college nights at local high schools
* Talk about how much you love MSU
Social Events:
* Plans and executes MSU Club events
* Maintains proper forms, trains and assigns volunteers to specific tasks on events
Mailing List:
* Maintain postal list by area
* Keep up with changes in the database
New Members/Volunteers:
* Contact inbound leads; be a mentor to this person, get them to the events and/or meetings.
* Develop a welcome kit procedure to turn lead into team member
* Collect new member data at all events
* Plan new member recruiting events
* Communicate new member info back to e-mail team
Community Involvement:
* Student Mentoring
* Scholarship Fundraisers
* Charitable Causes
Suburban Initiatives:
* To get involved in the northern suburbs contact Mark Schabel
* To get involved in South/West suburbs contact Tom Benner
* Other areas needed!
Marketing:
* Promoting the club during Chicago based events
* Tracking web usage
* Recruiting new members to the club
Spartans Helping Spartans:
* Organize networking events
* Liaison with MSU placement services
* Establish a sustem for taking inbound leads
* Lead mentoring program
* Work with website to set up networking section
University Liaison:
* Maintains communication for each college at MSU
* Responsible for contacting MSU Development and Ralph Young
