John Hill , Director of Alumni Career Services at Michigan State University, is charged with providing career services to 420,000 MSU alumni. John will enhance your understanding of leveraging your alumni network in "Taking Your Online Connections Offline For Career or Corporate Success". John runs the 10th largest official LinkedIn alumni group with nearly 16,000 MSU alumni members.
The presentation will allow one to understand how Web 2.0, a term to describe online user-generated content, has proliferated on sites like Facebook, Twitter and Linkedln. As these sites have grown, thanks in part to Generation Y’s interest in using these as preferred communication channels, the opportunities for businesses to capture audiences, target markets, qualify sales leads, find quality hires and communicate have grown exponentially. Learn the ins and outs of these preferred sites and how you can utilize them to accentuate your offline business practices.

Thank you for your interest in joining the Board of the MSU Alumni Club of Metro Chicago! All Board positions are for a period of two years from the date of election. Requirements are:
- Board members are expected to be active in the oversight, planning, promotion and execution of club activities, programs, and campaigns.
- Board members are expected to attend all club general meetings; approximately one per month.
- Board members are expected to serve on at least one club committee.
- All applicants must be paid members of the MSU Alumni Association. You can sign up at www.msualum.com if you are not currently a paid member.
- Applicants are expected to attend one Board meeting before elections on 4.25.2010 where they will be introduced and given the opportunity to share more about their interests and availability to serve on the Board.
